Lions Club, Peliyagoda  steps forward to another social work for the people in Kilinochchi with the coordination of Security Forces – Kilinochchi, donated stationeries, spectacles and three wheel-chairs  on  02  July 2017 at Nelum Piyasa Auditorium, Kilinochchi. This programme was launched on the request made by Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana USP ndc – Commander, Security Force- Kilinochchi.

The eye clinic which was conducted on same day led to select suitable persons for spectacles donation progarmme with the assistance of Security Force – Kilinochchi. As result of that event, 350 spectacles were distributed for people who were selected from eye clinic.

Meanwhile, 150 stationeries were freely distributed among children from low income families in Kilinochchi District. On the same day three wheel chairs were distributed among three handicapped persons who were selected as suit. During the programme Sath Ranga dancing group performed at the stage.

Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana USP ndu, Commander Security Forces – Kilinochchi attended as the Chief Guest of the event. Brigadier General Staff and Brigadier Admin and Quartering of Security Force Headquarters and Chairman of Peliyagoda Lions club Lion Thilak Frenando, Secretary Lion Mrs Kusum Amarathunga, Lion Mr Alex Ponweera, Lion Mrs Dilrukshi Livera and other lion’s members of Peliyagoda Lions club, other State Officers, Army Officers attended this event.

57 Division and 571 Brigade coordinated this spectacles donation programme with the support of Armour Coordinating Office and 8 Sri Lanka Artillery Regiment troops.
