KILINOCHCHI CIVILIANS GET EYES EXAMINED IN MOBILE CLINIC

Nearly 244 civilians including with students affected with various eye ailments and other sight weaknesses in Kilinochchi district had the rare chance of getting treatment during a mobile eye clinic organized recently at Nelum Piyasa auditorium on 04 July 2017.

Accepting the invitation of Commander Security Forces – Kilinochchi Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana USP ndc, Chief Executive Officer of Vision Care Optical services – Colombo Mr Dasantha Fonseka and his team extended their fullest cooperation to make this community service a success.

The team of optometrists and eye surgeons screened those who came to the clinic and directed them to obtain eye glasses at free of charge. Out of 244 attendants 210 were selected for the obtain eye glasses in imminent and 34 reading glasses were distributed to the remaining civilians at the same day.

65 Division troops under the supervision of General Officer Commanding – 65 Division Major General Sarath Weerawardena RSP USP IG took the lead in this regard with assistance offered by Security Forces Headquarters – Kilinochchi.

Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana USP ndc also attended to the event and he expressed his sincere gratitude to the team of optometrists and eye surgeons of Vision Care Optical services – Colombo for the rendered their fullest support for this health community project.
