With the intention of promoting reconciliation and harmony among all ethnic communities in Kilinochchi, the troops of under command brigades of the 57 Division organized a musical show to celebrate New Year’s Eve 2018. This musical show was held at Central College Grounds – Killinochchi on 31st December 2017, with the support of all communities living in Kilinochchi and it pave the way to develop cordial relationship within the communities.

Commander Security Forces Kilinochchi, Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana USP ndc graced the occasion as the Chief Guest with the invitation of General Officer Commanding 57 Division Major General Jagath Gunawardane  RSP USP ndc psc.

Over 2500 civilians and more than 3000 military personnel including Civil Security Force personnel enjoyed the evening. This musical extravaganza was backed by two popular Army Musical Bands, ”SIHARA” from 4th Sinha Regiment, ”SEYOGA” from 3rd Gajaba Regiment and ”NORTHERN WIND” from Civil Security Force.

Evening was amplified with the live performance of popular artists, Mr. Jaliya Ranathunga, Mrs. Achala Lakmai, Mr. H R Zoysa, Mr. Santha Fernando and Mr. Princess De Silva.  This musical evening was magnified and coloured by dazzling dancing performance by the ”CHAINGAL” from Anuradhapura, ”SATHRANGA” (57 Division cultural troupe) & ”NOTHERN WIND” (Civil Security Force) dancing groups. Children enjoyed the musical evening with gifts of illuminating toys and fireworks display during the musical evening.

General Officer Commanding 55 Division Brigadier H M J K Gunarathna  WWV RWP RSP ndu psc , General Officer Commanding  64 Division Brigadier K J Jayaweera  RWP RSP USP rcds, Deputy Inspector General Mahesh Walikanna,  Senior Officers serving under Security Force Headquarters – Kilinochchi, Senior Officers from Police, State Officers from Government Agencies and Delegates from private sector also participated for the event.
