To uplift the mutual relationship between India and Sir Lanka, Troops of Kilinochchi organized a Indian folk dancing programme. The programme was initiated under the concept of Commander Security Force Kilinochchi Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana with the collaboration of Indian Consul General in Jaffna Hon Mr. A Nadarajan on 27 January 2018 at “Nelumpiyasa” Auditorium.

A special Assam Folk Dance and Musical performance conducted by renowned artists of “Bihu” cultural dancing troupe and following Dancing items were presented by the troupe, Bhortal nritya dance, Tokari Geet dance, Domahi Kikan dance, Mishing Gumrak dance, Borot dance, Kushan dance, Borodoichikhal dance, Hamzar dance, Lewa Tana Nrittya dance, Jhumur dance, Oja Dhol Badan dance and bihu dance.

Hon Mr. A Nadarajan attend the event as the chief guest and Commander Security Force Kilinochchi Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana, District Secretary in Kilinochchchi Mr. Arumanyagam and Deputy Inspector General WMRMW Walikanna and General Officer Commanding 66 Division Major General Duminda Keppetiwalana, General Officer Commanding 65 Division Major General Sarath Weerawardhana, Commander Forward Maintenance Area Brigadier Indrajith Vidyananda and many Senior Officers/Officers participated for the event.

Further, Over 300 of civilians including priests, school children, parents, teachers’ in Kilinochchi and more than 600 troops of security force Kilinochchi witnessed the colourful cultural event.
